The eastern edge of the Zárub ridge in the Lesser Carpathians is bordered by the Havrania skala cliff. This place is popular especially among climbers, but its beauty is definitely worth a visit for hikers as well.

Havrania rock lies above the village of Smolenice, where you can admire the fairytale Smolenice castle. Get ready for an easy ascent, after which you will have a beautiful view of the Small Carpathians and the Danube Plain. There is also a commemorative plaque to the Trnava mountaineer Ľuboš Stach on Havrana skala.

The best starting point for the hike to Havrana skala is the Smolenice railway station (about 2.5 km). You start the journey following the yellow sign, under Havraňa skala you need to connect to the Štefánik highway marked in red.

If you feel like it, you can continue from here to the top of Havranica. After it, you will descend along the forest trail to the saddle of Čertov žlab. Finally, you will reach Smolenické Castle and back to the railway station.
