Description of the attraction

The Pieniny National Park is located in the northern part of Slovakia on the border with the state border of the Republic of Poland. This place is characterized by an aesthetic landscape appearance and will literally captivate you with its abundance of natural wealth. The highest point of the Pieniny Mountains is the rocky hill of Vysoké Skalka. It lies between Šľachovka (899 m above sea level) and Vysoka (1,013 m above sea level).

The top of Vysoké Skalky is a popular tourist location in the Pieniny Mountains. It is easily accessible and the ascent to it is not very difficult, only at the end you will find rugged, rocky terrain. Under the top rock platform, it is secured with ladders and chains for the safety of visitors. After climbing to the top of Vysoké Skalka, you will be rewarded with a far-reaching view. In good weather, you can see the peaks of the Pieniny Mountains on both the Slovak and Polish parts of the territory.

Kýčera peak rises nearby, you can also admire the white limestone rocks Šurdákova and Fridrikova skala, which you can also visit along the way. Vysoké Skalka can be climbed from several starting points. On the Slovak side, these are the villages of Stránany (about 4 km from Stránanské sedlo), Litmanová (10 km), Lesnica or Veľký Lipník.
